D&D for Cash

08/16/2006

Thanks to everyone who played D&D for Cash this year. It certainly was fun (and chaotic). The "Room of the Future" was interesting, I hope they will use it next year. It would certainly cut down on the noise level.

I have compiled the compete results for 2006.  Next year's event is tentatively called "D&D for Cash  - Last Man Standing"    However there may be several different events... so many ideas, so little time :)

Gen Con 2006's  D&D for Cash Team Arena will consist of $1,500.00 in Prize Money !

First Place  $1000.00  ($250.00 to each surviving party member)

Second Place $400.00  ($100.00 to each surviving party member)

Third Place $100.00  ($25.00 to each surviving party member)

You must survive to collect a share.  (Example: If 3 people survive, they DO NOT split $1000.00 three ways, they each receive $250.00).

This is done to encourage teamwork. You will NOT win more money by backstabbing your allies. This is a TEAM-BASED tournament.

There will be one table for pre-registrations and one "open" table for generic tickets on a first come, first served basis.   The cost to enter is eight tickets (or $12.00).

Sessions will run from 2PM until Midnight on Thursday and Friday and Noon until Midnight on Saturday.

Prizes will be awarded on Sunday at Noon. You do not need to be present to collect,  a money order will be sent to you, if you are an absentee winner.

Each team will consist of (4) 7th Level iconic characters. There are over 20 Characters from which to choose, no duplicates will be allowed on a team, but it is possible to have the same iconic character on both teams.  Teams will have up to 10 minutes to pick characters and exchange spells if desired.   The list of characters has been revised, but is similar to previous years.

Each hour, two teams will face off in the Arena.  Winners will be judged based on how quickly they defeat their opponents based on combat rounds and initiative score. The session ends when all members of one team have been reduced to -10 hp

This year, we plan on having a leader board, scores will probably not be kept secret.

This is going to be FUN :)

~ Looking forward to seeing you in the Team Arena
